The topic was as follows: “As part of efforts to halt the spread of African swine fever, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs has taken steps to cull all pigs in regions such as Paju, Yeoncheon, and Gimpo. However, the culling method has prompted animal rights groups to criticize the government’s preventative measure, claiming that it violates animal protection laws. To what extent do you agree or disagree with the following statement? The government should stop the precautionary culling of animals, and seek more effective and humane methods to prevent spread of infectious disease. Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.”
