    The groundbreaking ceremony for a 'CNU Democracy Trail'  took place at the grass square in front of Yongbong Gwan on December 4. Starting from the Main Gate, the starting place of the May 18 Gwangju Democratic Uprising, it links several historical sites for democracy at the university including the Martyr Park Gwan-hyeon Monument, the Martyr Yun Sang-won Statue and Martyr Park Seung-hee’s Memorial Stone.
