▲ The bird’s-eye view of Chonnam National University

Chonnam National University (CNU) has been ranked 430th out of the global top 2,000 list of the "World University Rankings 2021-2022" released recently by the Center for World University Ranking (CWUR) in Saudi Arabia. In Korea, CNU maintained its 11st place among Korean universities and second place among national universities, the same as last year. In particular, CNU has been ranked 408th in the "Research Performance" category. The CWUR evaluation is recognized for its authority by determining the ranking of world universities only by quantitative indicators that can be objectively verified, not by surveys or data submitted by the 19,788 institutions.

In addition, CNU rose sharply from 301-400th to 101-200th place in the "Impact Rankings 2021" released in April by the Times Higher Education, a U.K. global university evaluation agency. Jung Sungtaek, president of CNU, mentioned, "It seems that our university's long-established research capabilities are being evaluated little by little. We will try to produce more research results through active exchange and joint research with leading researchers around the world."
