CNU will open its newly established Animal Hospital to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the College of Veterinary Medicine in 2022. The hospital has flourished over the years, and it is now expanding to become the biggest animal hospital in the Honam region. The hospital first opened in Dongmyeong-dong in 1957 and moved to its new location on Gwangju campus in 1979. The new hospital will provide opportunities to train more competitive professionals through convergence education in veterinary medicine.

Director of the Animal Hospital Seo Guk-hyun (Professor, Dept. of Veterinary Medicine) said, “The hospital will operate medical offices from the first basement floor to the third floor of the building, letting students experience veterinary clinics in improved circumstances compared to before. We have prepared high-powered equipment and enough spaces in the new facility to offer customized animal medical services. Our motto is ‘Personalize Medical Services’ giving the treatment that the patient needs. Local residents’ companion animals will receive high quality medical treatment through our hospital.” The opening ceremony of the hospital will take place on Nov. 24. Visitors can learn about the hospital’s history and goals, and will be able to partake in a tour of the hospital.
